Through photos, movies, and other visual media plus the audio, students are able to interpret, create and communicate more effectively. As we practiced using VoiceThread I thought of some of my students and how I could use this to optimize their learning. The 'I spy' photos could be great for one student that needs multiple ways to practice learning one to one correspondence. I would do one set in which he would have to count and tell (record) the number of specified items in each picture. Next, with the assistance of his para, he could find items, take pictures and then record what he took pictures of.

I also used VoiceThread for my Digital Story, Geography Vocabulary, after using Webspiration to do the story board. My high school students have a lot of vocabulary to learn and I am going to use this same procedure with some of the vocabulary. They will have to plan what definition, pictures, etc and then put it together with a way to connect the words to aid in remembering. I may not have VoiceThread available because it is not free and I don't know if I could justify the cost. Will have to decide on what tool to use instead.
